Air Force Officer Training School Manual (OTSMAN) Practice Test

The Guardian Commitment emphasizes a set of core values fundamental to the Air Force, which are designed to underpin the ethical standards and behaviors expected of its members. Character, Courage, and Connection are all integral components of this commitment.

Character refers to the moral and ethical framework guiding an officer's actions and decisions. It embodies integrity and accountability, which are vital in maintaining trust and respect within the military.

Courage is about facing fear, adversity, and challenges with resolve, which is crucial in high-stakes environments like the military. It reinforces the idea that officers must demonstrate bravery in both operational and ethical dilemmas.

Connection highlights the importance of building relationships, fostering a team environment, and ensuring effective communication. It recognizes that teamwork and collaboration are essential for operational success and personal development.

While compassion is a valuable trait and can certainly enhance leadership and interpersonal relationships, it is not formally recognized as one of the Guardian Commitment core values. Instead, it may be considered a desirable personal characteristic that complements those core values but does not belong to the specific set outlined in the Guardian Commitment.
